Eminiaddict.com Review:

I am really excited for viewers here to learn of www.eminiaddict.com. Eminiaddict is run by David Halsey “Cool man Halsey”. I first came to learning about Emini about 2-3 months ago, as a friend referred me.

When I was greeted to the site I can’t say I was extremely impressed pretty simple page with some how to videos on some thing called Ambushes, in essence they are 50%-61% retracements (lets call them kill zones) with -23% targets. There are no signal tools IE: Macd’s, Stochastics, Moving Averages…etc.

How could something so simple work right? Boy was I wrong…This had been an extremely effective technique anyone can learn.

David explained the site was about learning how to trade on your own learning this technique he had. He does this via three forms:

The free learning videos he has posted at http://www.eminiaddict.com/2009/03/emini-addict-webinars.html , a nightly video on his main page which allows you to compare notes with your own (I think it is important to do your own analysis first as not to be dependant on others personally), and an Intraday LIVE class.

David, normally trades both the Euro Currency and Eminis (S&P Futures) don’t expect him to tell you where to short and where to go long and follow blindly it truly is a learning environment. What I have learned though is it can also be used on stocks and etfs effectively.

The Intraday class costs $30 a month, and he has a 7 day trial before you are charged. For the membership you are treated to his guidance on “Ambush Setups” from 30 minutes prior to market open to close, he answers any and all questions and an extremely professional individual. Sometimes I believe he might be comotosed as he really displays no emotions. I believe all around he is a great guy, humble and honest.

I couldn’t thank David enough for what hes doing, and for any “newbie” trader I believe the costs associated are fair. He uses 6tick es stops (1.5 pts) and tries to swing long and short which has an excellent risk:reward.

…so go check it out

Here’s some really large examples of this bear market Ambushes (Wish I found him sooner)

Live with Oscar Review (2)

April 14th, 2009

My, my, my, how word gets around. I just cancelled my premium room subscription so I am out of the closet. Happy DA? Here’s the story.

My first couple of weeks with Oscar were pretty good. I was totally thrilled to find somebody to do the heavy lifting for awhile. I didn’t have a futures trading account and much of my trading capital was custodied in such a manner that it could not be moved, nor could I use it for futures trading. I followed along with Oscar’s recommendations using ETFs tied to the S&P 500.  I began the process of opening a small  account just to trade one lot and see how I felt about it. I went thru all the paperwork, asked everybody in the room how much the trade commissions were -’ ask Oscar’ was the reply. Talked to the staff — ‘ask Oscar’.  When Oscar finally showed up in the trading room,  I private-messaged him several times and asked — what’s the cost. He never answered me. So I’m a schmuck. Figuring it would ten bucks or so at most, I placed my first trade.  The trade confirmation arrived and I nearly fell off my chair. The charge for 1 lot round-trip was $50.  When Oscar showed up again in the room (mind you, you could wait around all day before the great man made an appearance), I sent him a private message saying that $50 wasn’t going to fly. He replied  ‘k’ and closed the chat window. I kept opening the window back up, telling him we needed to have a conversation before I placed any more trades. He kept giving noncommittal answers and closing the chat window. I wrote that I was willing to pay $10 each leg. He wrote no prob. It’s all good. But you can’t discuss it with other room members. Don’t want a mutiny here. Most of the others pay $50. I didn’t put that in quotes, but it’s pretty close to word for word. I said I wanted an agreement it in writing. He said he had ‘guests in town’. I wrote that I  wanted it by the end of the day.  It took a boycott on my part of one week (not participating in the trading room)  before Oscar contacted me. He was full of excuses as to why it had taken so long to reply.  Friends in town, birthday party, etc., etc.  He wanted me to let him know when I was ready to ‘rock and roll’. The thing that was missing was a written disclosure of trading charges but –  I ‘had his word’ on it.

The mechanic who takes care of my car gives me a written  estimate before any work is done.  The company that takes care of my lawn sends me a written contract. Would you not think that a broker, someone who can charge your trading account on a whim, should provide you with a written agreement disclosing costs associated with trading?

Here’s another matter of ethics that I find disturbing.  Why should Oscar give me a better deal than someone who has been there longer?

Why did so many of the other members pay more only because I was willing to make an issue out of it.  Is that fair to his other subscribers?  Granted, $50 per trade is robbery plain and simple, but the charge should be the same for everyone especially for 1-lot traders. Perhaps a little higher for multiple lots, but a standard fee schedule, nonetheless, should apply.

As I was in the process of opening my account (which now sits dormant at Dorman) my bullshit detector started screaming at me.  It doesn’t work quite right, doesn’t always go off when it should, but when it

does, I know I am in an area of highly concentrated bullshit.   I

really did have a few excellent first couple of weeks and was cheer leading just like the rest of the drones.  I thought Oscar was the genuine article, but then it seemed like everything abruptly started to run off the rails. When he had ‘friends’ in town, he neglected the trading rooms altogether. I was concerned about placing a trade with a huge stop on it and then going to bed and hope for the best. What is that? I was concerned about people being chastised for making small talk — what are you supposed to do when there is no trade, no Oscar, and no making trades on your own, no talking about your own trades  — trust in the ‘Omni’. When the ‘Omni’ was wrong or the trade was bad, it was always someone’s fault, like the dollar didn’t do what it was supposed to or you were stupid and didn’t follow directions. Manage

your own trade!!!!!   How do you manage a dumb-ass trade?  As for

making your own decisions regarding the trade, you are only encouraged to do that when a trade has gone wrong.  Otherwise the message is ‘do what I say and do not question me.’  As for the spreadsheet on the net, I would say that’s a pretty accurate record of following directions to the letter. The quality of that record keeping also indicates that it was prepared by an intelligent person capable of following directions.

I was tired of hearing how stupid the open room people were. One day when the ‘Omni’ was green Oscar was laughing because the ‘morons’ in the open room were short. Those ‘morons’ made about 20+ points that day while we in the superspecialVIPpremium room sat on our hands.

People being banned from the room really threw up red flags for me too. No dissenting opinions were allowed.  You could not talk about trading ETFs, most likely because then Oscar couldn’t dip his fingers into your till.  I was personally called out on the carpet for trading ETFs instead of futures.  Frankly, my business is none of his business.  I was his boss, not the other way around.

Oscar seemed to undergo a change in behavior over a small period of time. At first he was positive, I thought he was so cool — but things changed in a hurry. He would be absent from the rooms most of the day, then showing up late in the afternoon looking like he was ill (or had a hangover).  One day he didn’t come in at all, had slept all day.

Claimed to work all hours of the night analyzing the markets for us but didn’t often come up with a trade, and when he did, it usually did not go well.  I must say, though, the premium room people were absolutely the best, nicest ever. I will miss them all. In a nutshell, I can echo all the negative remarks that everyone else has made. Chris is just a good guy, loyal to a fault. I hope he eventually joins us here.

I waited to reveal my identity because I was waiting to see how things would play out.  After submitting my first trade, I emailed Oscar’s office a couple of times to make sure the recurring charge was removed from my account.  No action of was taken, of course, so I just sent a message to cancel my subscription.  A few days later a charge for

$395 appeared on my Paypal account for another months’ service.  I disputed the charge and Paypal issued a refund.

Now, here is what i said about the infamous and supersecret ‘Omni’ — i think it is a Twister spinner. Remember the old game of Twister?  Red and Green are obvious, Yellow means maintain ‘neutral stance’ and Blue means up all night doing homework.

Now translation — ‘neutral’ and ’stalking’ means ‘I slept all day’ or ‘didn’t feel like bothering with you morons today’, blue means no signal at all ‘wtf, I was up with my buddies all night’ drinking or gambling or whatever it is he does that makes him look like warmed-over death.

Anyway, best of luck to all of you. I have never met a single one of you, yet I feel I have made many good friends and I hope we will stay in touch.  I  have also learned yet once again that nice guys (and

girls) are pretty good at getting their pockets picked. Be careful and be skeptical.

Livewithoscar.com

March 24th, 2009

My first Review:

Live with Oscar with ex floor trader Michael Carboni or Is it Oscar Carboni or neither?  My understanding is he was a 26 yr floor trader veteran course I can’t find anything to verify that information.

I joined www.Livewithoscar.com aka www.futuresanalysts.com in December of 08 under username dannystang. This site seemed a little different from others I have experienced right from the get go, you are treated to a free room where you may see Oscar on camera talking about markets, the users welcome you right from the get go and instroduce you to Premium a $400 a month service where you make “the real money” and Oscar caters to your every whim.

One of Oscar’s employees immediatly welcomed me and told me I could have all these services “Free” as a special VIP member, sounds great. Oscar ask me to call him, and immediately I am greeted by a very charismatic Oscar who explains to me for minimum of 10k in his brokerage I to can trade futures with a professional who has made people 100’s of thousands of dollars.

Hmmm…You-tube guy screaming alot, trading futures, claims hes not like other snake-oil salesman, who makes people 100s of thousands. He even had one guy make 26k that month who just started! Holy crap - I am IN! He further explains he can trade my account as hes does full service for his V.I.P.s my only question was what was the downfall as futures trading is risky right? He got a little more aggressive, and explained what downfall can be had with 24 yr veteran.

Oh he did mention one little other detail, he charged $50 per contract round trip, I believe my think or swim account is $5 for comparison purposes.

Looking back you realize how dumb am I? But all these people making killer money can’t be wrong right?

So I begin my journey into the premium room, Oscar generally takes 2 trades, 1 being his normal trade another is called afternoon delight “AD” which supposedly is 90% correct? Right off the bat I began to notice this wasn’t a trading academy as he advertises but trade where he says when he says and don’t ask why. Naturally nervous I ask him to take my trades for me for just 1 week as I was not use to 15-16 pts stops ($700-$800 per contract) he tells me no problem.

A week goes by and he opens a chat window and tells me listen your not trading you need to trade to be in here otherwise your not learning anything. A little baffled I remind him of the 1 week agreement and he tells me I really need to do it on my own. Ok fine afterall this is a professional he must know what I need to do.

I begin my trading…first I notice little things in chat which had me casting doubt, people being banned for disagreeing with his Technical Analysis, others just going crazy calling him a scam artist…Hmm something might not be right here.

3 months go by…30%+ lost at an average of 10% loss from base per month. Wait a second things are not adding up here. Oscar constantly asking me if I had taken his trades (I did avoid the euros trades and Wheat as I saw his stops were 2k per contract seem a little nutz I had already seen 2 stopouts). I was fed up started analyzing his TA as there was something similar I had seen on other blogs.

Then the shit really hit the fan, I found a site (will post if owner is ok with it check back) who had posted omni levels BEFORE oscar ever posted them, with explanation as to WHY and get this: FOR FREE. Wait a second here, I had paid for Omni / Oscars commissions, learned absolutely nothing (he does draw pretty channels and head and shoulders) and lost money.

How could the technical analysis be identical? Oscars a professional right? Who brags all day on how he makes so much money and is only doing this to help new traders make some also. I begin to ask him how he gets to hit technical levels. He ignores me day after day. Finally I was fed up and on the final day I planned to be there he posts a short in premium 2 pts below what this free site said a good short would be. I ask why not 2 pts higher and he gets very upset and tells me not to question him, as a matter of fact someone in the same chat tells me no one questions the 10 commandments. This is getting out of hand. I tell the room goodbye.

Oscar proceeds to open a chat with me and once again asks if I had taken his trade (which was short continuation the the day befores fall) I respond that I was already short from the prior day in an etf so would not be trading es (futures) and he begins barking about his money and how he needed to make his commissions (right this is the same guy who is helping new traders cause he can make millions on his own).

What proceeded this was my withdraw of account from Doorman the clearing firm he uses. He banned my account as in his own words “not to poison his other clients”, and removed and you-tube posts within minutes as there is nothing that terrifies this gentleman more then people knowing the truth of his service. He further told his audience I had to be banned because I would call him at 4.am (what a lying scumbag really)

To summarize, as a premium member I was motivated to cheerlead for Oscar, he would ask us to “get some of those guys in free chat here” post postitive you-tube ads, and never question him ESPECIALLY in public chat. (he monitors private chat btw).

Futures trading is risky and I am not complaining because I lost it was a risk I was willing to take.

This my experience with a Liar, who overpromises, underdelivers and worse preys on inexperienced traders. What really adds insult to injury is his own employee admitted to me his account was nearly blown apart and he did not know what to do. What kind of garbage individual who claims to make ungodly amounts of money have a member of his own team losing at trading? If this his how he treats his own employee don’t expect any better.

You have been warned.

Danny
